September 22, Fineko/abc.az. AzerGold CJSC will implement four major strategic projects worth AZN 3.63 billion under the 2027–2030 State Program for Mining and Metallurgy.

Speaking at a state meeting chaired by President Ilham Aliyev, Executive Board Chairman Zakir Ibrahimov stated that only 10% of the required capital will be funded directly from the state budget, with the remaining 90% raised through internal revenues, commercial debt, and private investments.

The strategic portfolio spans four key pillars. Under gold mining, 1.28 million ounces of additional gold reserves from the Soyudlu and Ortakand deposits will be integrated into active production. In ferrous metallurgy, the Dashkasan project will establish a production capacity of 2 million tons of hot briquetted iron (HBI), with 1.7 million tons allocated for export.

Additionally, AzerGold will develop non-ferrous copper, zinc, and lead resources at the giant Filizchay deposit while expanding auxiliary industrial production chains and specialized services.
