September 23, Fineko/abc.az. New production facilities are to be built in Azerbaijan.

The relevant measures are stipulated by Azerbaijan’s State Program for the Development of the Mining (metal ore) and Metallurgical Industry 2027-2030, approved by President Ilham Aliyev.

According to the document, the iron ore mining project in Dashkesan includes organization of ore mining, construction of a processing plant, as well as the laying of a 45 km pipeline to transport iron ore concentrate from the processing plant to the pellet production plant.

In addition, it is planned to build a pellet production plant as part of the Dashkesan iron ore project.

The project also envisages construction of a Hot Briquetted Iron (HBI) plant. The State Program also includes preparation of proposals for additional incentive measures and benefits in the field of ferrous metallurgy, including preferential tariffs for rail freight transportation.
