September 23, Fineko/abc.az. There has been a sharp increase in tourist trips of Azerbaijanis to China.

According to the State Statistics Committee, for Jan-Jun 2026, Azerbaijani citizens made 12,233 tourist trips to China (2.2-fold more versus Jan-Jun 2025 and more than 6-fold in the last 3 years.

Along with the peak in the number of trips, expenses also increased sharply; for example, in the 1st half of the year, Azerbaijani tourists spent 21.1 million manats in this country.

The simplification of the mutual visa regime, which entered into force between the two countries on July 16, 2025 and allows them to stay visa-free for up to 30 days, played a crucial role in this increase in the tourist flow.
