September 22, Fineko/abc.az. Prime Minister Ali Asadov signed a new decision on amendments to the decision "On Approval of the Unified Budget Classification" dated October 11, 2018.

«"Functional classification of budget expenditures" and "Administrative classification of budget expenditures" have been approved in a new edition, according to the amendments. The decision was made with the aim of strengthening public financial administration, increasing transparency and ensuring the targeted use of funds.

In accordance with the innovation, organizations funded from the State Budget and receiving financial assistance must prepare their applications for the draft consolidated and state budgets for 2028 according to the new classification and submit them to the Ministry of Finance.

The system will be introduced in a test mode as part of budget projects for 2027. The provisions of the decision concerning the functional and administrative classification will fully enter into force on January 1, 2028.
