September 22, Fineko/abc.az. Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov outlined strategies to maximize the economic value of national mineral resources during a state meeting on the 2027–2030 Mining and Metallurgy Program.

The Minister emphasized that Azerbaijan aims to upgrade existing processing operations, produce high-value-added goods, and accelerate new exploration to integrate economically viable deposits into industrial production.

Highlighting the global surge in metal demand driven by the energy transition, electric mobility, semiconductors, and AI infrastructure, Jabbarov noted that Azerbaijan is uniquely positioned to capitalize on these trends thanks to its rich resource base, energy capacity, advanced transport infrastructure, and strategic position along the Middle Corridor.
