September 22, Fineko/abc.az. The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) reported its active loan portfolio in Azerbaijan at €879 million as of August 31, 2026.

This represents a 1.01% or €9 million decrease compared to July 31. The bank currently maintains 35 active projects across the country.

The private sector accounts for 41% of the current portfolio. Sustainable infrastructure projects command the largest share at 90% (€787 million), followed by financial institutions at 7% (€63 million) and the corporate sector at 3% (€29 million). To date, the EBRD has invested €3.699 billion across 202 projects in Azerbaijan.

Meanwhile, the bank’s operating assets in the country grew by 0.56% month-on-month to reach €719 million. In 2025, the bank financed 10 projects valued at €81 million.
