Norges Bank Delivers Second Rate Hike of the Year

September 24, Fineko/abc.az. Norway's central bank (Norges Bank) raised its key policy rate for the second time this year by 25 basis points to 4.5% to curb inflationary pressures.

Governor Ida Wolden Bache stated that borrowing costs will likely remain elevated for some time to bring inflation down to the 2% target, with further rate hikes possible if necessary.

August CPI reached a four-month high of 3.3%. In contrast, neighboring Sweden's Riksbank held its benchmark rate unchanged at 1.75%.
