Azerbaijan Doubles Watermelon Export Revenues in H1, Driven by Russian Demand

August 18, Fineko/abc.az. In the first half of this year, Azerbaijan exported 8,090 tons of watermelons valued at $4.75 million. According to calculations based on the State Statistics Committee data, this represents a 2-fold increase in value and a 59% surge in volume compared to the same period in 2025.

During the reporting period, shipments breakdown by destination was as follows:

  • Russia: $4.4 million (+2.6 times) for 7,404 tons (+2 times);

  • Ukraine: $193 thousand (-65%) for 336 tons (-69%);

  • Belarus: $87 thousand (+2%) for 183 tons (-12%);

  • Georgia: $53 thousand (+71%) for 166 tons (+73%).

For context, Russia accounted for 83% of the total 16,693 tons of watermelons exported by Azerbaijan in 2025.
