August 17, Fineko/abc.az. In January–July 2026, Azerbaijan imported 631.7 thousand tons of wheat valued at $143.5 million.

According to the State Customs Committee, this represents a decrease of 14.7 thousand tons (2.2%) in volume, but an increase of $3.3 million (2.3%) in value compared to the same period last year.

Wheat import expenditures accounted for 1.4% of Azerbaijan's total import expenses during the reporting period.

In the first seven months, Azerbaijan's foreign trade turnover reached $29.216 billion (+1.3% YoY). Exports totaled $19.336 billion (+27%), while imports stood at $9.881 billion (-27.4%), resulting in a trade surplus of $9.455 billion—a 5.9-fold increase year-on-year.
