August 13, Fineko/abc.az. The State Tax Service under the Ministry of Economy continues to register non-resident digital service providers through its online portal.

Four more international companies—Xsolla and Valve Corporation (US), Formula One Digital Media (UK), and Cleverbridge (Germany)—have completed registration this year. The VAT registration for Valve and Cleverbridge will take effect on September 1.

Under recent amendments to the Tax Code, electronic registration will become mandatory in September for non-resident digital suppliers whose annual turnover in Azerbaijan exceeds $10,000. Once registered, these companies will self-assess and remit VAT directly to the state budget, meaning local banks will no longer deduct VAT from consumers' accounts at the point of purchase.
