August 10, Fineko/abc.az. JPMorgan strategists Meera Chandan and Arindam Sandilya announced a tactical shift to a neutral stance on the US dollar. Following weaker-than-expected US economic indicators, the bank closed its long dollar positions against low-yielding developed market currencies with a minor loss.
Recent data revealed that US non-farm payrolls dropped by 23,000 in July, missing the median market forecast of an 80,000 increase.
While predicting narrower trading ranges for the US dollar, JPMorgan maintained its target of 164 for the USD/JPY pair. Regarding emerging market currencies, the bank retains net long positions in Latin America, neutral-to-moderate positions in EMEA, and net short positions in Asia.
