Apple Integrates Alibaba’s AI Model into Siri for Mac Users in China

August 8, Fineko/abc.az. Apple has published an instructional guide detailing how eligible Mac users in mainland China can connect Alibaba’s Qwen artificial intelligence model to Siri and Writing Tools.

The integration is expected to strengthen Apple’s footprint in China’s competitive AI PC market, where the company has faced market share erosion from domestic rivals like Lenovo and Huawei. According to Omdia data, Apple’s Mac shipments in mainland China fell 9% year-on-year in the first quarter to 800,000 units, capturing a 9% share of the domestic PC market.

Under the new guidelines, users running macOS 26.6 or later can leverage Qwen via Siri for enhanced document analysis, photo processing, and text generation. Alibaba will be restricted from using submitted user materials to train or refine its AI models.
