August 8, Fineko/abc.az. Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar announced during a live television broadcast that Türkiye is prepared to execute various projects across energy fields in Azerbaijan.

The minister noted that Türkiye currently participates in the development of the Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli oil and gas field block and operates in the Shah Deniz project. Highlighted as a testament to successful energy cooperation between Baku and Ankara in delivering energy resources to global markets, he referenced the agreement signed on June 1 involving SOCAR, BOTAŞ, TotalEnergies, and ADNOC. Under the agreement, Azerbaijan will supply a total of 33 billion cubic meters of natural gas to Türkiye over a 15-year period starting in 2029.

Bayraktar added that Türkiye’s overseas energy investments focus not only on boosting oil and gas production, but also on technology transfer and connecting production capacities to global markets. According to the minister, through strong partnerships spanning from Iraq to Somalia, Libya, Oman, Azerbaijan, and Hungary, Türkiye is solidifying its position as an influential force in the global energy market.
