August 6, Fineko/abc.az. Construction activities advanced significantly at the site of the "Shafag" Solar Project in the Jabrayil district during the first half of 2026, according to an operational update from bp.

The delivery of key equipment, including photovoltaic modules and structural components, has been completed, with the first solar panel installed in early April.

Currently, around 420 local workers are engaged in the project, including 150 resettled residents in the liberated territories. At peak construction, the workforce is expected to exceed 700 jobs. Construction is scheduled to continue through mid-2027.

Shafag Jabrayil Solar Limited (SJSL) equity interests are held by bp (40.01%), SOCAR Green (39.99%), Azerbaijan Business Development Fund (10%), and MVM (10%).
