German Factory Orders Exceed Expectations in June

22:06 - 6.08.2026

August 6, Fineko/abc.az. Recovery in Europe’s largest economy is gaining momentum as German factory orders surged by 3.1% in June, marking the second consecutive month of growth.

According to the federal statistics office, this increase outperformed even the highest estimates in market surveys, following a revised 0.3% gain in May.

Germany's Economy Ministry noted that new orders in the manufacturing sector are trending upward, driven by robust domestic demand. Government reform packages targeting pensions and administrative streamlining, alongside expansionary fiscal spending, continue to bolster business activity. However, elevated energy costs stemming from Middle East tensions and historically low water levels on the Rhine River maintain pressure on energy-intensive industries.
