June 30, Fineko/abc.az. In Azerbaijan, the list of production activities exempt from customs duties will be expanded.

ABC.AZ informs that this was reflected in the draft amendments to the Law on Customs Tariff, discussed at today's meeting of the Milli Majlis.

According to the draft amendments, import of Azerbaijani-origin goods into the domestic economy from Alat FEZ (precisely the goods fully produced by a FEZ legal entity in the Alat Free Economic Zone or subjected to sufficient processing in compliance with the processing criteria on the list of commodity nomenclature of foreign economic activity) is exempt from customs duties for 15-year period from the date of establishment of a FEZ legal entity producer or processor, on the condition of export of at least 50% of those goods and in accordance with the procedure of the relevant executive authority.

The amending bill was drafted in order to create favorable conditions for raising investments to the Alat FEZ and preserving the competitiveness of goods produced there.
