June 29, Fineko/abc.az. A portion of the frozen financial assets of the Islamic Republic of Iran held in Qatar's accounts will be returned to Tehran in the near future.

ABC.AZ informs that Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian announced about this.

"According to the agreements reached, $6 bn of the total $12 bn of Iranian funds held in Qatar will be unblocked and returned to the country," the head of state said.

Pezeshkian also emphasized that the necessary interdepartmental work is currently underway to return the remaining assets. This easing of the financial regime is linked to the implementation of agreements to ease US sanctions on Iranian oil and petrochemical exports.
