August 27, 2026, Fineko/abc.az. The US Department of Labor has released its weekly report on initial unemployment insurance claims.

Initial jobless claims dropped by 4,000 to a seasonally adjusted 203,000 for the week ended August 22, beating market expectations of 208,000. The previous week's figure was revised upward from 206,000 to 207,000.

The 4-week moving average rose by 1,250 to 205,500. Meanwhile, continuing claims fell by 18,000 to 1.778 million for the week ended August 15.
