May 5, Fineko/abc.az. Last year, 914,000 tons of crop production were exported from Azerbaijan.
ABC.AZ reports that Food Safety Agency’s (AQTA) director Goshgar Tahmazli stated this at today’s opening of the Azerbaijan International Agricultural Exhibition (Caspian Agro) and the 31st Azerbaijan International Food Industry Exhibition (InterFood Azerbaijan).
He noted that currently food and agricultural products of Azerbaijan are supplied to 73 countries around the world: "In 2025, a record amount of agricultural products was exported from Azerbaijan to the world market - roughly 914,000 tons, and significant part of them accounted for crop production. We need to create such international standards so that exported products can confidently occupy their place in any market in the world. This is the main contribution of the food security system to development of agriculture and the food industry. In this regard, animal health remains one of the most important tasks in the country."
The AQTA director stressed that the successes achieved by Azerbaijan are already yielding concrete results: "I can give two examples: Azerbaijan's obtaining the status of a country free from avian influenza and small cattle plague has allowed exporting relevant products to a number of countries around the world. Poultry products, as well as both breeding and edible eggs, are already being exported to various countries. The same can be said about fish and caviar grown in aquaculture, as well as a number of other animal products."
