February 26, Fineko/abc.az. The overall assets of banks operating in Azerbaijan decreased by 0.3 percent in January 2025 and amounted to 56.9 bn manats. In the previous month, this figure was 57.1 bn manats.

ABC.AZ informs that overall liabilities of the sector totaled 49.5 bn manats, and the balance sheet capital - 7.4 bn manats.

The loan portfolio of the banking sector approached 30 bn manats.

Business loans make up 53.2% or 15.9 bn manats.

Consumer loans make up 31.4% of the portfolio in the amount of 9.4 bn manats, while mortgage loans - 15.4% in the amount of 4.6 bn manats.

Deposits still account for the majority of the liabilities. The deposit portfolio reaches 36.8 bn manats (74.3% of overall liabilities. Of them, 20.5 bn manats are deposits of legal entities and 16.3 bn manats - deposits from individuals.
