December 2, Fineko/abc.az. Azerbaijan is taking a number of steps to assess the effectiveness of existing tax incentives and exemptions, as well as to introduce new mechanisms in this area.
ABC.AZ informs, quoting Finance Minister Sahil Babayev as saying this during the second reading of the Draft Law on the State Budget for 2026 at the plenary session of the Milli Majlis.
He added that the current benefits are already regularly analyzed through the electronic exemption system created by the Ministry of Finance. Based on performance indicators, decisions are made on their extension or termination.
"We also discussed additional benefits offered in the tax segment. This package is not limited to income taxes only. The Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic and the liberated territories continue to operate in the most preferential mode. Additional preferences for VAT and simplified tax in the field of public catering are provided, and benefits for the agricultural sector and the media are being expanded. The simplified tax limit for non-cash payments is increased from 200,000 to 400,000 manats. A number of incentive mechanisms are used for tourism. In general, additional benefits are provided for most sectors of the economy, especially those aimed at increasing economic activity," the minister stressed.
