Bitcoin Hits $80,000 Barrier: All Eyes on Upcoming US Data

15:12 - 26.08.2026

August 26, Fineko/abc.az. Bitcoin faced resistance around the psychological $80,000 mark as investors turned their attention to key upcoming economic data from the United States.

Following its strongest weekly gain in three years last week, the cryptocurrency experienced profit-taking after briefly touching $81,000. Market participants are now focused on the upcoming US core Personal Consumption Expenditures (PCE) inflation data and Fed Chair Kevin Warsh's speech at the Jackson Hole Symposium on Friday.

Meanwhile, institutional demand via US spot Bitcoin ETFs remains strong. On Tuesday, spot Bitcoin funds saw net inflows of $314 million, marking the fifth consecutive trading day with inflows exceeding $300 million. Analysts note that breaking above the $80,000–$83,000 resistance band could open the path toward $95,000–$100,000.
