November 3, Fineko/abc.az. Following recent sanctions by the U.S., the EU, and the UK targeting the Russian energy sector, Turkey's largest refineries have begun buying non-Russian oil.

ABC.AZ reports that SOCAR STAR oil refinery in Turkey recently purchased four shipments of crude oil from Iraqi, Kazakh and other producers.

"Speech is about 77,000-129,000 b/d of non-Russian oil. This means that SOCAR will reduce the share of Russian oil in its operations, while in September and October the company was almost completely dependent on Russian Urals crude oil – nearly 210,000 b/d," the refinery says.

One of the recently-received cargoes is Kazakhstan's KEVSO oil, similar to Urals oil, but not subject to sanctions. Previously, SOCAR imported only one batch of this brand per year.
