October 28, Fineko/abc.az. The number of payment cards in circulation in Azerbaijan through the systems of banks and Azerpocht LLC increased by 239,000 cards at the end of September compared with the previous month and reached 21.368 million cards, ABC.AZ informs, referring to the Central Bank of Azerbaijan.

This indicator grew by 13% versus the 2024 same term. The quantity of debit cards increased by 16%, while the number of credit cards declined by 7%.

The growth of payment cards has had positive impact on the volume of non-cash payments. Thus, during the month, the volume of non-cash transactions within the country grew by 24% against the relevant period of last year.

In September 2025, the non-cash payments within the country made via cards amounted to 8.898 million manats. E-commerce accounts for 7.808 million manats of non-cash payments. Of the remaining amount, card operations for 1.086 million manats were carried out through POS-terminals and for 4 million manats through self-service terminals and ATMs.
