October 20, Fineko/abc.az. Trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Italy amounted to $8.9 bn for Jan-Sept 2025 ($1.4 bn, or 19.1% more against Jan-Sept 2024), ABC.AZ informs, referring to the State Customs Committee.

Trade turnover with Italy made up 21.7% of overall trade turnover of Azerbaijan. Thus, Italy took the 1st place among the countries in which Azerbaijan carried out the largest number of trade operations for Jan-Sept 2025.

For Jan-Sept 2025, Azerbaijan exported products for $8.5 bn to Italy ($1.4 bn, or 20% more versus Jan-Sept 2024).

At the same time, imports for approx. $374.2 bn of were carried out from Italy to Azerbaijan, which is thousands of US dollars or 26.5% more against Jan-Sept 2024. Thus, Italy ranked 9th among the countries that exported the largest amount of products to Azerbaijan for Jan-Sept 2025.

According to Azerbaijani State Customs Committee’s estimates, for Jan-Sept 2025, Azerbaijan conducted trade operations with 173 countries for totally $35.476 bn.

Of the trade turnover, $18.6 bn accounted for exports and $16.8 bn for imports. Thus, in annual terms, exports decreased by 6.3%, while imports increased by 14.5%.
