October 3, Fineko/abc.az. Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan plan to increase Kazakh oil supplies via key route Aktau-Baku-Ceyhan up to 1.7 million tons in 2025.
ABC.AZ informs that this became known during the meeting of Kazakh Energy Minister Yerlan Akkenzhenov with his Azerbaijani counterpart Parviz Shahbazov within the framework of Kazenergy Week-2025 in Astana.
"An important topic of negotiations was development of transport infrastructure. Aktau-Baku-Ceyhan route has become a key export artery for Kazakh oil supplies. In 2023, 1.06 million tons were transported through it, and in 2025 it is planned to increase the volume up to 1.7 million tons," it was informed.
Akkenzhenov noted that Aktau-Baku-Ceyhan route is of strategic importance for Kazakhstan. At that, Baku-Supsa route remains used as a strategic reserve.
Bilateral cooperation projects, including the Caspian Green Energy Corridor, were also discussed at the meeting. Following the meeting, the parties stressed that joint projects strengthen the strategic partnership between the two countries and open up new opportunities for the entire region.
