September 1, Fineko/abc.az – Speaking at the meeting of the Council of Heads of SCO States in China, Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev stated that Tashkent supports the expansion of the organization.

“We advocate for the gradual expansion of the organization, as the success of the ‘SCO model’ lies in its openness and focus on broad cooperation. We are ready to support the aspirations of countries that link their future to the SCO,” Mirziyoyev’s press service quoted him as saying.

According to ABC.AZ, the Uzbek leader emphasized that “expanding the SCO’s dialogue partners, including through countries from other regions, will help transform the organization into a platform for cooperation with Global South countries.”
