Exports from Türkiye to Azerbaijan increased by 9.5%

August 13, Fineko/abc.az. Türkiye’s exports to its border neighbors Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Georgia, Iran, Iraq, Syria, and Greece increased by 4% in January–July compared to the same period last year, approaching 15.6 billion dollars, the Anadolu Agency reported citing Türkiye's Ministry of Trade, APA-Economics reports.

According to the information, Türkiye’s total exports to its neighbors Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Georgia, Iran, Iraq, Syria, and Greece amounted to 15 billion 592 million 919 thousand US dollars in January–July. In the same period of 2024, this amount was 14 billion 972 million 416 thousand dollars. Exports to these countries increased by 4% year-on-year.

It is noted that during the reporting period, Iraq was Türkiye’s largest export neighbor with approximately 5.7 billion dollars. Bulgaria ranked second with 2.6 billion dollars, Greece third with 2.1 billion dollars, and Georgia fourth with 1.4 billion dollars.

“The highest annual export growth in January–July was recorded to Syria with 49.3%, to Greece with 11.5%, and to Azerbaijan with 9.5%,” the information states.

Note that the calculations include data on Türkiye’s border neighbors Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Georgia, Iran, Iraq, Syria, and Greece. Since there is no official data regarding Nakhchivan, trade with this region is not included in the calculations. There is no direct official trade by land between Türkiye and Armenia.
