August 27, Fineko/abc.az. In the first half of this year, Azerbaijan imported 4,567 head of cattle (heifers, cows, etc.) valued at $19.3 million. According to calculations based on data from the State Statistics Committee, this represents a 43% increase in value and a 44% surge in volume compared to the same period in 2025.

Breakdown of imports by country during the reporting period:

• Germany: $5.4 million (up 39-fold) — 1,171 head (+29-fold);

• Estonia: $3.1 million (-11%) — 693 head (-16%);

• Denmark: $2.8 million (+23%) — 730 head (+27%);

• Slovakia: $2.7 million — 689 head (no supplies last year);

• Austria: $2.4 million (up 3-fold) — 523 head (+2.7-fold).

For comparison, out of the 8,983 head of cattle imported into Azerbaijan in 2025, Uruguay accounted for 40%, while the Czech Republic held a 20.5% share.
