July 23, Fineko/abc.az. Revenues from the management of finances of the State Oil Fund of Azerbaijan (SOFAZ) increased by 9.6% up to 3.89 billion manats.

ABC.AZ informs with reference to SOFAZ’s report on investment activities for 1st half of 2025, SOFAZ extra-budgetary revenues due to the difference caused by changes in exchange rates for Jan-Jun 2025 totaled 9.468 billion manats (21.4-fold more than a year earlier).

7.24 billion manats were transferred to the State Budget as part of SOFAZ budget implementation for 2025.

Over Jan-Jun 2025, 24.3 million manats were allocated for the following projects, including:

- 4.2 million manats to finance the State Program to increase the international competitiveness of the higher education system in the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2019-2023;

- 20.1 million manats to finance the State Program for youth education in prestigious higher education institutions abroad countries for 2022-2028.

Expenses relating to SOFAZ management amounted to 13.8 million manats.

At auctions conducted by SOFAZ through the mediation of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan for Jan-Jun 2025, finances for $3.718 billion were sold.

During the first six months, the observed growth of SOFAZ assets was mainly linked with income from the management of funds and extra-budgetary revenues.
