March 4, Fineko/abc.az. Since March 10, China has been imposing additional duties of 10-15% on American agricultural products in response to the tariff policy of U.S. President Donald Trump, ABC.AZ reports, referring to the Chinese Ministry of Commerce.
Extra duties of 15% will apply to shipments of chicken, wheat, corn and cotton from the U.S. Additional duties of 10% are imposed on sorghum, soybeans, pork, beef, aquatic products, fruits, vegetables and dairy products.
The list published by the Tariff Commission includes 711 items of the product range. The new duties will be levied based on current tariff rates, she said.
"The unilateral imposition of duties by the U.S. damages the multilateral trading system, increases the burden on American companies and consumers, and undermines the foundation of trade and economic cooperation between China and the U.S.," the commission said.
