A total of AZN 3,319 million were allocated for pension payments during seven months of this year, which is 15% (AZN 439 million) more than in the same period last year, ABC.AZ reports with reference to the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population.

Reforms in the field of pension provision continue this year. Since February 1 of this year, the minimum pension has been increased from AZN 240 to AZN 280. At the same time, the financial assistance provided to pensioners last year has been included in their pensions since the beginning of 2023, and after this increase, pensions were increased by indexing by 14.7% in accordance with the annual growth rate of average monthly wages over the past year.

The average monthly amount of pensions in January-July of this year increased by 18% and reached AZN 435, including the average monthly amount of old-age pensions increased by 17% and reached AZN 466.

During the specified period, 19,500 pension appointments, since the beginning of 2019, when the electronic appointment of pensions began, 90,000 pension appointments were carried out through the electronic system in a proactive manner.
