October 20, Fineko/abc.az. Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov made an article about the power generation capacity in the country.
ABC.AZ reports that the minister says in the article that along with the increase in generating capacity, successes were achieved in the electric power network:
"So, 240 substations of 110-500 kV with total capacity of 28619 MVA are currently in operation. Last year, the production and export of electricity in Azerbaijan increased significantly with production figures of 27.8 billion kWh, exports of 1.67 billion kWh. In 2021, 23.4 billion kWh of electricity was consumed. For the past 9 months of this year electricity generation amounted to 21.5 billion kWh with an increase of 807 million kWh and exports by 1.8 billion kWh with an increase of 775.5 million kWh (against Jan-Sept 2021)."
According to Shakhbazov, this year 940.5 million kWh of electricity was exported to Turkey, 694.1 million kWh to Georgia, 95.6 million kWh to Iran, 75.6 million kWh to Russia: "Electricity imports decreased during this period and amounted to 104.9 million kWh".
