July 21, Fineko/abc.az. Azerbaiajn observed different dynamics in manufacture of petroleum products.

The State Statistics Committee reports that production of motor gasoline and lubricating oils increased and production of diesel fuel, kerosene, liquefied gas, and some other petroleum products declined.

The country produced 706,700 tons of motor gasoline (4.7% more against Jan-Jun 2025). The manufacture of lubricating oils reached 21,900 tons (a rise by 12.9%) and petroleum coke - 118,900 tons (a rise by 12.9%).

Along with this, production of diesel fuel totaled 1.128 million tons, down 1.2% year-on-year. Kerosene manufacture dropped to 261,700 tons (down 22.5%), liquefied gas production reached 95,400 tons (down 15.3%), and fuel oil production - 51,400 tons (down 9.2%). The production of petroleum bitumen also lowered to 60,100 tons (a drop by 47.9%).

As of July 1, 2026, industrial enterprises had stocks of diesel fuel (105,500 tons), other residues of petroleum products (61,200 tons), petroleum coke (41,900 tons), and automobile gasoline (41,700 tons).

Meanwhile, for Jan-May, Azerbaijan imported 80,700 tons of motor gasoline (9% less year-on-year). Despite this, the cost of imports grew by 5.9% up to $72.3 million, with average import price of $896 per ton. While import of gasoline AI-92 decreased by 95.9%, import of premium gasoline AI-95 increased by 35.5%. In order to reduce dependence on fuel imports in the long term, the government plans to implement a project to build a new oil refinery by SOCAR.
