July 20, Fineko/abc.az. The International Football Federation's revenue from the World Cup is estimated at record-breaking $15 bn. The figure is higher than the $11 billion forecast, FIFA President Gianni Infantino stated.

At the same time, the last World Cup in Qatar in 2022 brought $7.6 billion for the international football organization . The significant increase in earnings is largely linked with expansion of the tournament to 48 teams instead of 32, as well as the increase in the cost of advertising and tickets.

For example, official ticket prices for the World Cup final in New Jersey reached $34,500, while resale prices reached up to $2 million. The current World Cup was held in three countries - the U.S., Canada, and Mexico, and was attended by 6.81 million people.
