July 20, Fineko/abc.az. Donald Trump stated on his Truth Social platform that the incoming UK Prime Minister, Andy Burnham, plans to expand oil production in the North Sea.

According to the US President, tapping into these reserves will prevent the UK from remaining a "poverty-stricken disaster." Trump noted that the region holds "one of the largest sources of high-quality oil on Earth" with reserves capable of lasting hundreds of years, which could "transform the United Kingdom from a poverty-stricken disaster into one of the richest countries in the world."

The US politician called it "ridiculous" that Britain spends billions of dollars purchasing oil from Norway, "which it extracts from a less valuable section of the North Sea."

Former Mayor of Greater Manchester Andy Burnham has officially assumed leadership of the UK Labour Party and is taking office at 10 Downing Street on July 20.
