July 21, Fineko/abc.az. President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, speaking at a joint press conference with Federal Chancellor of Germany Friedrich Merz, stated that Germany, as a leading EU nation, is expanding its influence in the South Caucasus, with bilateral ties fostering regional peace and stability.

The head of state highlighted that Azerbaijani natural gas is currently delivered to 10 EU member states, noting that oil exports and future green energy supplies to Germany will drive large-scale energy collaboration. Furthermore, President Aliyev emphasized Azerbaijan's growing role as a bridge between Central Asia and Europe, pointing to the high significance of partnering with German companies in transport and transit infrastructure.
