July 20, Fineko/abc.az. The US Presidential Administration is considering placing a bond of $100,000 on some green-card seekers applying at U.S. consulates abroad, The Wall Street Journal reports, citing sources.
The amount of the bond will not be fixed and may vary depending on the specific case.
In some situations, the non-refundable fee may be lower or higher than $100,000,which may also require collateral. The initiative is to be tested in a limited number of countries at the first stage, but the list of countries has not yet been disclosed.
