January 11, Fineko/abc.az. Since the beginning of 2021 Azerbaijan has issued the banknotes with denomination of 1, 5 and 50 manats, the design and protection systems of which have been updated within the existing concept.

ABC.AZ was informed at the CBA that Central Bank’s Board made a relevant decision on this.

Currently, the CBA has started issuing the updated banknotes with denomination of 1, 5 and 50 manats.

The updated banknotes in denomination of 1, 5 and 50 manats were put into circulation with banknotes of the same denomination of the old model.

The old-style banknotes will be in circulation in parallel with the updated ones and will be used without restrictions.
