August 21, Fineko/abc.az. In January-July of this year, Azerbaijan imported $1 billion 293.65 million worth of vehicles and spare parts. According to the State Customs Committee, this marks a decrease of $193.25 million, or 13%, compared to the same period last year.

During the reporting period, expenditure on vehicle and auto part imports accounted for 13.1% of Azerbaijan's total import costs.

Overall, Azerbaijan's foreign trade turnover grew by 1.3% year-on-year in the first seven months, reaching $29 billion 216 million. Exports accounted for $19 billion 336 million (up 27%), while imports stood at $9 billion 881 million (down 27.4%). Consequently, the foreign trade surplus reached $9 billion 455 million, representing a 5.9-fold increase compared to the previous year.
