August 18, Fineko/abc.az. According to an assessment by Deutsche Bank macro strategist Henry Allen, the US S&P 500 index is on track to deliver double-digit returns for the fourth consecutive year—a streak last seen in the 1990s.
Allen noted that maintaining the current macroeconomic balance across all asset classes appears challenging, outlining two potential scenarios:
First Scenario (Strong Growth): Continued robust global growth supports risky assets, but with headline and core inflation still above targets in major economies like the US and the Eurozone, central banks may be forced to raise interest rates faster, catching markets off guard.
Second Scenario (Growth Slowdown): If economic momentum cools—even without a full recession—the fundamental support for risk assets could erode, triggering notable price corrections as forward-looking markets readjust.
