June 9, Fineko/abc.az. The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has officially approved a USD 750 million loan to finance the construction of the Istanbul Northern Railway Crossing Project in Turkey.
According to ABC.AZ, this is the first of two identical tranches from the ADB for the landmark project, which carries a total estimated budget of USD 8.27 billion (the second tranche is slated for 2028).
Co-financed by the World Bank, the 127-km strategic rail line will connect Istanbul’s two primary international airports to the national grid and alleviate a major supply chain bottleneck between Europe and Asia.
