May 19, Fineko/abc.az. The UAE capital has announced the construction of Sphere Abu Dhabi, an iconic entertainment complex on Yas Island. A similar format venue already exists in Las Vegas.
ABC.AZ informs that the facility will be located between Yas Mall and SeaWorld Abu Dhabi Water Park, a short drive from Zayed International Airport. The project will cost $1.7 bn, and completion is scheduled for the end of 2029.
Sphere Experiences events will reflect the culture and heritage of the UAE. The spherical LED facade of the complex is supposed to display works by Emirati artists.
The site will be able to accommodate up to 20,000 people.
The facility is designed to help diversify the country's economy and strengthen Yas Island's position as a global event venue.
