April 17, Fineko/abc.az. The Tisza Party (Respect & Freedom Party), which won the parliamentary elections in Hungary, intends to prepare the country for possible accession to the eurozone within four years.

ABC.AZ reports that according to Telex, transition to the euro may take place by roughly 2030.

Andras Karman, who is responsible for financial issues in the party, said that after Tisa comes to power, he will assess the economic situation of the country and hold consultations, after which he will determine the final dates for the introduction of the euro. He admitted that under favorable conditions, the transition could occur even earlier than 2030, provided price stability is achieved.

The Party also intends to abandon government regulation of prices, considering such measures incompatible with the market economy in the long term.

Earlier, former Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban opposed country's accession to the eurozone, stressing that the preservation of the national currency, the forint, is an important factor for economic independence.
