Europol: AI threatens to break ‘labor for money’ model by 2035

15:34 - 16.12.2025

December 16, Fineko/abc.az. A Europol study predicts that technological progress will overtake social adaptation, leading to internal conflicts.

ABC.AZ reports that the main conclusions of the study are as follows:

• The "machine revolt" will be initiated by humans against automation, not by AI itself.

• A new type of crime will appear - "sabotage of automation", like Luddism of the 19th century.

• The police will find themselves in a difficult situation "between two fires".

• Social division will increase due to discussions about "robot rights" and machine errors.

• Mass unemployment may break the traditional "work for money" model, which will require the introduction of a universal basic income.

The main conflict of the decade, according to analysts, will be internal - between the technology owners and the people they replaced. The tipping point is expected by 2035.
