November 28, Fineko/abc.az. Azerbaijan is developing a model combining compulsory and voluntary medical insurance.
ABC.AZ reports, quotingRustam Takhirov, the director of the Department of Sustainable Development of the Financial Sector of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA), made the relevant statement at an event on the theme "Integration of the banking and insurance sectors" organized by the American Chamber of Commerce in Azerbaijan (AmCham) in Baku.
He noted that a similar model already exists in a range of countries.
"We are currently working over its application," he said.
Our goal is to use the possibilities of compulsory medical insurance in accordance with the successful experience of other countries to reduce the risks of insurance companies and increase the availability of medical insurance," he said.
He added that the CBA has a project to increase the availability of health insurance costs, which will also achieve certain results.
