October 20, Fineko/abc.az. With the commissioning of new power plants, overall electricity production capacity in Azerbaijan has reached 9,732.5 MW.

ABC.AZ informs that this is stated in an article of Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov, published in the official newspaper on the Day of the Power Engineer.

It was noted that the figure is 1,317 MW or 15.6% more versus Jan-Aug 2024:

"An important role in this significant growth is played by the commissioning of the largest energy company in our country and the South Caucasus as a whole, the November 8 power plant with capacity of 1,880 MW, which perpetuated our glorious victory. This plant, which strengthens the position of Mingachevir as an energy center not only of Azerbaijan, but also of the South Caucasus as a whole, is a vivid example of international partnership in the electric power industry through cooperation with Chinese and Italian companies."
