July 14, Fineko/abc.az. Slovak President Peter Pellegrini, currently on an official visit to Azerbaijan, praised the country's crucial regional role and the massive reconstruction efforts in Karabakh during a joint press statement with President Ilham Aliyev in Shusha.

The Slovak President expressed his honor to be in Shusha and his admiration for the large-scale achievements completed in such a short time: "It is a great honor for me that Slovak companies are contributing to the development of this region."

Emphasizing that the strategic partnership between the two nations is far from formal, P. Pellegrini added: "Azerbaijan is the guarantor of stability and development in the region, a key player, and a hub where transport routes converge. Our cooperation is not about empty declarations; it translates into concrete projects."

At the end of his statement, the Slovak leader shared an intriguing personal detail: "I have visited Azerbaijan before while serving in various other capacities. Every time I returned from Azerbaijan, my work went better, and I received promotions. For this, I extend my special thanks to you."
