September 29, Fineko/abc.az. According to the Swiss NGO Public Eye, in six years, exports of pesticides banned in the EU due to health and environmental hazards have more than doubled, from 81,000 tons in 2018 up to almost 122,000 tons in 2024.

ABC.AZ informs that Germany is among the export leaders (about 40% of all shipments), followed by Belgium, Spain and the Netherlands. The most widely supplied products are dichloropropene, which has been banned in the EU since 2007, as well as neonicotinoids, banned in 2018 due to the threat to bees. Environmentalists criticize the EU for non-compliance with the export ban promised under the Green Agreement and demand stricter rules.
