September 15, Fineko/abc.az. Over Jan-Jul 2025, Azerbaijan imported 38,459 kg of gold (gold, bars, wire and profiles in other semi-processed forms, plates, sheets, strips or tapes with thickness of more than 0.15 mm, excluding any base) in the amount of $3.75 bn.

ABC.AZ informs, citing data from the State Statistics Committee, that this figure exceeds the data for the 2024 same period by 3.6 times in quantitative terms and 2.8-fold higher in value.

In 7 months, Azerbaijan imported 6,784 kg of gold worth $656.8 million from Russia (there were no supplies a year ago), 4,861 kg worth $481.3 million from the UK (there were no supplies a year ago), 4,453 kg (+53%) worth $458.8 million (+12%) from the USA, Australia - 4,121 kg (-38%) for $368.2 million (-48%), South Africa - 2,527 kg for $267.5 million (there were no supplies a year ago).

In 2020-2023, 1,724 kg of gold of the same name worth $98.3 million was imported to Azerbaijan from abroad, and in 2024 - 41,078 kg worth $3.313 billion.

In the first 7 months of this year, Azerbaijan sold gold only to Switzerland. 2,895 kg of gold worth $178.7 million was delivered to this country, which is 2.4 times and 32% more than 1 year ago, respectively.
